{"id":6965,"date":"2014-10-31T18:44:23","date_gmt":"2014-10-31T18:44:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.eoisabi.org\/?p=6965"},"modified":"2026-04-03T17:56:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T17:56:10","slug":"animal-farm-g-orwell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/englishroam.com\/?p=6965","title":{"rendered":"Animal Farm  [G Orwell]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>George Orwell<\/strong> (1903 &#8211; 1950) was the pen name of Eric Blair, a British political novelist and essayist whose pointed criticisms of political oppression propelled him into prominence toward the middle of the twentieth century.\u00a0He could not turn a blind eye to the cruelties and hypocrisies of Soviet Communist Party, which had overturned the semifeudal system of the tsars only to replace it with the dictatorial reign of Joseph Stalin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #424242;\"><strong>&#8216;Animal Farm&#8217;<\/strong>, a \u201cfairy story\u201d in the style of Aesop\u2019s fables, uses animals on an English farm to tell the history of Soviet communism. Certain animals are based directly on Communist Party leaders: the pigs Napoleon and Snowball are figurations of Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky, respectively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p
