Used to know a girl that lived down there and\u00a0she’d go out in the evenings and pick a mess of it…<\/address>\n
Carry it home and cook it for supper, ‘cause that’s about all they had to eat,<\/address>\n
But they did all right.<\/address>\n

Down in Louisiana where the alligators grow so mean<\/strong><\/address>\n
There lived a girl that I swear to the world made the alligators look tame<\/strong><\/address>\n

Now one time I had this little ol’ band back home<\/strong><\/address>\n
A rock and roll band<\/strong><\/address>\n

And it weren’t too far away so we was walking<\/strong><\/address>\n
But we came upon a long dark stretch of woods<\/strong><\/address>\n
Had an old river running through it<\/strong><\/address>\n
And an old wooden bridge across the river<\/strong><\/address>\n
Well just as I was about to step upon the bridge<\/strong><\/address>\n
Out stepped the troll –\u00a0<\/strong>A whole mighty troll<\/strong><\/address>\n
And he said: ‘Hey looks like you all are going to play somewhere’<\/strong><\/address>\n
And I said: ‘Yes sir’<\/strong><\/address>\n
Cause you always wanna say yes sir to a troll<\/strong><\/address>\n
He said: ‘I hate to mess up your boys job<\/strong><\/address>\n
But I sure could dig hearing ya’all play a little bit’<\/strong><\/address>\n
I said: ‘Man we can’t just plug up<\/strong><\/address>\n
And play it right here upon the bridge’<\/strong><\/address>\n
He said: ‘Why?’<\/strong><\/address>\n
And I go: ‘Cause …’<\/strong><\/address>\n
But the troll said: ‘Play!’<\/strong><\/address>\n
That’s what we did …<\/strong><\/address>\n
Well the wind was howling at the night<\/strong><\/address>\n
And the moon was covered up with clouds<\/strong><\/address>\n
I was walking cross a bridge on a dirt road<\/strong><\/address>\n
When I heard a troll growl<\/strong><\/address>\n
He said don’t you go walking cross my bridge<\/strong><\/address>\n
I am gonna make it tough on you<\/strong><\/address>\n
I am gonna give you swamp fever<\/strong><\/address>\n
You’ll be wondering if you’re you<\/strong><\/address>\n

And the troll said: Why?<\/strong><\/address>\n
