Find a script or a two-way conversation \u2013 this is easy to do on the internet.\u00a0 Then, say the words of the caller, while you record your voice on a smartphone, or other recording device.\u00a0 Be sure to leave long silences in between each line.\u00a0 Then, play it back to yourself and practice being the other person on the phone.\u00a0 You can do this several times, you can even do it in the reverse order, where you play the role of the receiver and then practice being the caller.\u00a0 This takes a little more time and planning, but it\u2019s still fun and effective.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u2022 \u00a0Call Customer Service<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There\u2019s nothing like a real-life situation to practice your phone conversation skills.\u00a0 The customer service representatives at a company are trained to give you information about their products and services.\u00a0 So, go ahead and find a product or service that interests you and call that 1-800 number.\u00a0 It\u2019s perfectly okay to say, <em>\u00abMy English isn\u2019t very strong. Would you please speak to me slowly.\u00bb<\/em>\u00a0 A good customer service representative will do just that, in fact, they\u2019re quite used to it.\u00a0 They\u2019re happy to help you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I hope these exercises help you to improve you phone conversation skills.
